The KLP Bantam A Tyees had a great start to the New Year after winning the KIBIHT tournament in Kamloops.

The boys crushed Williams Lake in their first game with a winning score of 8-2, and forward Lucas Draper received the game MVP.

Game two had the Tyees facing off against West Kelowna, with a final score of 9-3. Forward Branden Vandervalk would receive the game MVP for his outstanding effort. The boys managed to keep the momentum going as they beat a strong Lethbridge team in game three. Despite great goal tending by the Lethbridge goalie, the game would end with a 3-1 victory for the Tyees. Defenseman Austin Gurney received the third game MVP of the tournament.

Next up for a semi-final spot in the A Pool, was a very determined POE team. The Tyees battled hard but would end up suffering their only loss of the tournament by a score of 8-5. Jack Garner, who acted as the teams stick boy throughout the tournament, would receive the game MVP as a thank you for his hard work and support.

The loss against POE placed the Tyees in game five against Kamloops for a spot in the final for the B Pool division. In what was a great battle, the boys would come out on top once again with a 3-2 victory and Defenseman Brayden Ross received the game MVP. On New Years Day, the Tyees faced off against Quesnel in the B Pool final, and took home their much deserved first place trophy, after a 4-2 win. Carson Strom was the game MVP. The entire Tyee team showed great determination and effort throughout the week.

Thanks to the teamwork of linemates Lucas Draper and Robert Gurney, Parker Bell would receive the very much deserved KIBIHT award for the best forward of the tournament.
